(Spoilers I know this is purely a shitpost game and not meant to be breath of the wild or anything but it's still a game so I'm gonna give it a casual review and feedback)

I like the early windows Clik and Play aesthetic you went with. I might not be nostalgic for it but I watched that DingdongVG stream where he played Bubba to the Turd Dimension so I'm basically an expert. I really like the main man himself and his sprite.
But that's where my praises kinda end here. Even though it was a shitpost, a lot of the game was just frustrating with it's stressful and downright unfair jumps. Level 5 is downright ridiculous just within the first 10 seconds of the stage. The chase obstacle is way to fast and if you want to maintain top speed and avoid him then it's literally impossible to jump over the spikes, I could not beat it.
Level 4 has too many stressful and tough as nails jumps with absolutely no breathers. Like 1 checkpoint would have been gracious por favor. Due to the characters controls it caused be to run into the side of the spike and get killed, which we all know is the most dangerous part of the spike.
Level 3 and 2 have that ridiculous jump with Level 3 having too much fluff to trudge through to get back TOO the jump, which Level 4 has as well.
And the whole clicking and moving the money man head is unnecessary, unresponsive and just wastes time.
Also that other guys complaint about the wall-jump applies here too, where you can just wall jump by standing a corner and pressing the opposite direction.
Didn't have a lot of fun here I'm sorry, I hope your other platformers, if you're planning to do anymore turn out better.

Rip Trackpad users I guess. I can't get past the giant fish part because
A. He instantly makes a B-line toward you and won't stop until he gets caught on something
B. Because he's literally always on your tail there's not enough room to break the wall
C. Using trackpad is basically a death sentence
Please have an option to put the blow up button on the keyboard or something.

YaenGames responds:

Blow up button is ALT on the keyboard

That wasn't really a game.
It was more a still image with a timer on the bottom.
Nothing interesting happens, not even any visual gags or interactable objects. I'm sorry, I don't get the joke.

Ant responds:

Cry about it B)

The game needs a save feature. Especially since I finally beat Tricky, on a trackpad (ouch), and when I paused it, did something, came back, unpaused and the game just reset. No real incentive to come back after that.
Picking up weapons is also a chore, especially in high octane situations. In normal games, you just have to stand on top of the weapon and press the pick-up button to pick it up, but in this game you have to use the cursor to aim at it and then pick it up, which makes no sense because it's not like you can pick up a weapon from anywhere on the map, you're still limited to the weapon being in very close proximity to you, so why not press the down arrow or something to pick it up when you're next to it.
Because I use a trackpad, I think it would be neat to add some sort of Contra esque game mode where your aiming is controlled via the arrow keys along with your movement.
Other than that, I found the gameplay really faithful to the madness series and it was cool to use all the weapons. The art is very cool, and while I feel like boss tells could be better telegraphed, like Tricky swinging his sign, and the hitbox still being on it when it looks like it wouldn't (I only got to Tricky I have no idea how the other bosses are animated), the animation also really cool.
While I have my complaints, great job overall and I hope to see more of this game in the future.
Rating will be a lil' hard though.

Really fun and action packed game.
I didn't really find any real use to the gun imo, it takes to long to wind up, it doesn't do a lot of damage, and enemies are piling up on you so often that spacing the boss isn't really that useful. I mainly just used it for some variety every now again while the bat got the most use. It didn't even take out the Ritz's in one hit.
The framerate makes it really hard to see anything without getting eye ache but I assume that's already being worked on.
Otherwise very cool game, I really liked the sound design, when you get hit, when you hit something with the bat, or when you take out one of those flying saucers.
How about the guns are rapid fire with good damage, but when you use up all the ammo it has a pretty long cool down. The rapid fire nature means you might use up all your ammo if you hold down the button too long. But that's just a suggestion.
Keep up the cool work.

"The finale to the Riddle School series. Not a joke this time."

That's a good one Jon

Neat little game, nothing too stand out, but I still enjoyed my time with it

Control scheme is a pain. I mean it wouldn't if I had a mouse, but I don't. So through no fault of your own, 3.5 stars. That's how video game reviews work, apparently.

Not bad
The graphics makes text and visual cues really hard to make out
I had to read the comment to actually understand the battle system, if they explained it in-game that was my own fault but I didn't want to read anything because of the bit-crushed text.
Running is one of THE MOST unreliable things in game because enemies 80& of the time will suck you back into their irresistible grasp and force you to fight them, meaning you could be killed by trying to run away like 10 times.

Extar responds:

You have to be careful when running, you can run through two or more enemies, but they will get a few free hits on you. Still, sometimes it's the only option.
Making the game on Pico-8 means there's only a limited space for the game code, so things like in-game tutorials are often missed out, just to allow space for more gameplay. That's what happened here, I didn't think it was worth spending much time on a tutorial seeing as there'd be so much to explain and realistically the game should only take about 20 minutes to play through anyway. The default Pico-8 font does take a bit of getting used to, I'll admit. Thanks for the review! :)
